Introduction to American Sign Language
with Joseph Federico
An introduction to the basics of Conversational American Sign Language (ASL) and how to apply it for social purposes. This course is designed for students with little or no previous experience in the language. Learning ASL is a helpful skill for communicating with the ASL community at large. This course will focus on developing basic conversational vocabulary and grammatical structures, syntax rules, finger spelling, facial expressions and the awareness of Deaf Culture. With some practice, signing with the instructor and other students to keep a conversation going will help you improve your conversational sign language skills. Topics revolve around sharing information such as hobbies, holidays, activities, common phrases, and more, giving you a variety of vocabulary to learn. The more you sign the more it becomes natural to you!
Beginner Electronics

This hands-on workshop is designed for beginners eager to enter into the world of electronics and coding. You will learn the basics of electronics through simple interactive projects involving LED control, temperature sensing, and more. The fundamentals of circuits will be explored using Arduino, breadboards, and basic components such as sensors, resistors, and capacitors. No prior experience is necessary.
ATI TEAS Test: Geneva

The ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS®) measures basic essential skills in the academic content area domains of reading, mathematics, science, and English and language usage. Submitting an ATI TEAS® (Test of Essential Academic Skills) score is a requirement for applying to FLCC’s A.A.S. Nursing degree program — a minimum score of 65% is required for acceptance into the program. The testing site or proctor will automatically submit your results from the ATI TEAS® exam to FLCC’s Admissions Office immediately following the completion of the exam session.
THIS IS THE IN-PERSON VERSION. The test will be taken on a desktop computer, on-site at an FLCC computer lab. Please arrive thirty minutes before testing begins. Individuals must present a valid state/govt. issued photo ID. No personal electronic items will be allowed into the testing area. Calculators are embedded within the on-line exam. A ten minute break will take place during the testing event.
If you identify yourself as a student with a disability and request testing accommodations you must contact the office at (585) 785-1670 ASAP!
Refunds will be processed for those students who officially cancel their registration by contacting the Workforce and Career Solutions office five business days prior to the date of test.
Beginning 3D Printing

In this introductory course, students will learn to design an object in CAD and use a 3D printer to create it.
Students will learn to design objects for easy 3D printing using CAD software, use slicing software to prepare objects for 3D Printing, and develop a basic knowledge of printer settings and best practices.
3D printing project, materials, and use of equipment will be provided for students.

Basic Computer Skills and Security

This course will provide students with a basic refresher in computer literacy and applications, including file management, email, internet, video chat, and texting. In addition, the course will provide discussions on everyday security concerns including cyber threat protection.
